This was recommended by my son's occupational therapist. My son is a 4 year old ASD and has frustrations with handwriting. This activity has made it a fun way for him to sit down and do hand writing. Love the concept of this and see my son using this for a long time.We are using this along with the Handwriting without Tears app and books. Our OT highly recommends HWT and we have been really happy with the variety of practice methods and sensory experiences involved. After using the app, our daughter is thrilled to use the small slate board, chalk, and sponges. The instructions included with the chalkboard are pretty skimpy, but the app is good.I use reviews for every online purchase I make, so I try to include the most important features (good and bad) when I write reviews. If you find my review helpful, please mark that below.Love everything about hand writing without tears manuscript beginner kit. Just perfect for us! Quality product. This is good handwriting practice but expensive in Amazon if you buy it. I bought an extra one from the HWT company it’s more cheaper $5.I thought I was just buying the chalk, pencils, and sponges, but it turns out this comes with the slate chalkboard too. I bought the slat chalkboard by itself for $12, so this is an excellent value! And, for those doubting whether they really need the HWT slate chalkboard or if they should just use a cheap synthetic one - go for the slate because it really makes for an entirely different sensory experience to fwel the way the chalk writes on this board. Definitely worth the money! These are great for working on single letters. Also easily fits in your bag or purse.Great curriculum and supplies, I just wish the chalk had been packed in a separate bag. There is white chalk dust all over everything else- pencils, sponges, etc.Good product but way too expensive
